The North Midlands Branch covers an area in the North and East Midlands stretching up to Yorkshire which has no ports and relatively few marine related organisations within the region.
The Branch offers a varied programme which is tailored to the demands of the active membership within the region which includes semi or fully retired Members and sea-going Members who have a home within the region, in addition to those currently employed within the region on marine related activities. The programme includes technical lectures and visits in addition to social activities, with more day time activities to reflect the requirements of the local Membership . The Branch Chairman’s Day is held in mid-summer and the AGM is normally held in October.
It is recognised that the Branch Membership is spread across a wide area and hence events are held at various locations to give opportunities for all Members to attend some events without excessive travelling.
