The Guild has published a 100th Anniversary booklet commemorating the sacrifice made by the engineers of the Titanic. The charity was created in 1912 to support the widows, children and other dependents of Titanic’s lost Marine Engineers. Today the Guild remains very active and is the only nautical charity directly linked to the Titanic. The charity continues to play a vital role looking after Marine Engineers in need and their dependents worldwide.

The Guild's 16-page fully illustrated commemorative booklet contains the history of the Titanic, drawings and photographs of the ship and its machinery; a tribute to the engineers - all of whom are named and whose photographs appear in the booklet, along with details of the safety measures that resulted from the Titanic catastrophe, and information on the Guild of Benevolence. Copies of the booklet can be obtained with a minimum donation of £10 + P&P per booklet requested, with all funds going to the Guild support its work in the coming years.

Governance: Nominations for Guild Trustees

The affairs of the Guild of Benevolence of the IMarEST are under the control of the Committee of Management, the members of which are the charity trustees.

Nomiations for election of Members of the Guild to the Committee at the Annual General Meeting 2010 may now be made and nomination forms can be obtained from the Guild Office by telephoning +44 (0)20 7382 2638.

Completed nomination forms must be received by the Honorary Secretary at 80 Coleman Street, London EC2R 5BJ not later that 1 December 2009.

Note: Any nomination received after the closing date will be declared invalid.
