Conference Overview
Building on the highly successful 2nd IMO-GloBallast and IMarEST Shipbuilders’ Forum on the Ballast Water Management Convention, held on 25 October 2011 in Istanbul - following the first Forum held in November 2010, Singapore - IMarEST Events are organising the Ballast Water Technology Conference from Thursday 23 to Friday 24 February 2012, Central London to coincide with MEPC 63.
Held under the auspices of the IMarEST Ballast Water Expert Group (BWEG) http://www.imarest.org/Community/TechnicalActivities/SpecialInterestGroups/BallastWaterExpertGroupBWEG.aspx the focus of the IMarEST Ballast Water Technology Conference will be to highlight the technical solutions available to shipowners’ and managers, offering practical guidance as to the most appropriate systems to adopt to ensure their regulatory compliance offered by the leading industry experts most qualified to advise shipping. A Conference Reception will be held at the close of day one at 1915 following the IMarEST Stanley Gray Evening Lecture entitled - Self and Science: High Stakes Conflict in Murky Seas, which takes place at America Square Conference Centre at 1815. All Ballast Water attendees are cordially invited to attend the Lecture and the Reception. The Lecture is being given by David Wright PHD DSc FIMarEST, Professor of Environmental Toxicology at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
