Earlier this year the St. Petersburg Branch took part in the World Maritime Technology Conference held in Mumbai. During this interesting and well organised conference the final decision was taken to hold the next global conference WMTC2012 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Then in March, the branch helped organise and participate in the UK-Russia networking meeting & conference at the IMarEST HQ in London. The London conference with almost 20 presentations on all aspects of shipbuilding and marine engineering was preceded by a visit of the branch delegation to the BVT Surface Fleet in Portsmouth, featuring a tour of the shipyard with representatives from both nations exchanging their experiences.
