Our most respected elder, Ir Fong Wing Hong, CEng, FIMarEST, MRINA, passed away peacefully on 24
November 2009. He had lived to 88 years old.
Ir Fong was an experienced and well known naval architect and marine engineer within the local
shipping community. Ir Fong contributed a lot to the local maritime industry for more than 60 years. Most notably he was the naval architect who participated in the design and re-build of the Jumbo Floating Restaurant. He was elected as the Chairman of the HKJB in the early 80s.
