The R&D symposium has
a truly global scope and highly focused objectives,
and is intentionally scheduled immediately
after the 49th meeting of IMO's Marine Environment
Protection Committee (MEPC), which will be
making key decisions on the new international
ballast water Convention. The symposium therefore
offers an unrivaled opportunity to present
R&D outcomes and directions to the administrations
and shipping industries of IMO member States.
