‘Booming global trade – opportunities and threats for marine insurance’ is a reminder of the importance of London in the marine industry even in unstable economic times. Simon Stonehouse will take the opportunity to touch briefly on the history of marine insurance and its role within the circle of quality, a voyage of discovery that embraces up-to-date statistics and shipping information. He will then focus on the current climate, highlighting the major issues – both insurance and shipping related - faced by marine hull underwriters. Finally he will propose suggestions and ideas on working together to improve safety at sea.
