The future of UK Defence Policy has as one of its central pillars a new design of Aircraft Carrier (CVF) which, together with the planned air group of Joint Strike Fighter aircraft will provide an expeditionary offensive air capability never before owned by the UK.
This presentation will discuss the design process from high level requirement to the manufacture and acceptance of the largest Naval ship ever built in the UK. It will further describe some of the new and innovative engineering practices and ideas being utilised in order to meet the demanding manufacturing timelines and tight budgetary constraints set.
