New Rules 2008

Change of Name and New Rules

At the 68th Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Marine Engineers Guild of Benevolence held at 80 Coleman Street on Thursday 7th March 2002, a resolution was passed to bring into effect a new set of rules known as "The 2002Rules". These rules introduce the new name for the Guild, the Guild of Benevolence of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, with a working title of the Guild of Benevolence of the IMarEST.

These changes reflect the long association between IMarE/IMarEST and the Guild, and ensure that all members of the enlarged IMarEST are eligible for assistance from the Guild as well as the traditional beneficiary base of Marine Engineer Officers.

During the past year, "The 2002 Rules" were submitted to the Charity Commission, and the Commission has accepted them in their entirety.

Copies of "The 2002 Rules" can be obtained from the Guild office at 80 Coleman Street, or telephone 020 3782 2600 or direct line 020 7382 2638 on Mondays and Tuesdays, or email guild@imarest.org.
