for the various categories of membership. It is also

following titles to those of its members who are appropriately
qualified, experienced and competent:
• Chartered
Marine Engineer (with Engineering Council (UK)
registration as Chartered Engineer (CEng))
• Chartered
Marine Scientist (CMarSci)
• Chartered
Marine Technologist (CMarTech)
• Incorporated

The exemplifying educational standards embraced by the
IMarEST are set in the context of the English and Welsh
education system, where Higher Education typically commences
after 13 years primary and secondary educations.
In Scotland, degree courses generally start one year
earlier, and are therefore usually one year longer. All
educational qualifications will be assessed against these
exemplifying standards.
