CRANFIELD MSc RECEIVES ACCREDITATION FROM THE IMarEST

Cranfield University’s MSc in Offshore and Ocean Technology has been accredited by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).

The Cranfield masters programmes for the offshore sector have developed alongside the changing offshore oil and gas industry over the past 25 years.

The IMarEST accreditation is a tremendous achievement, reflecting both the university’s ethos of teaching and research allied to the needs of industry, and the development of high-calibre postgraduate engineers and scientists.

The MSc’s six options have been accredited as follows:

Chartered Engineer (CEng)

    • Offshore Materials Engineering
    • Offshore Renewable Energy
    • Pipeline Engineering
    • Risk Management
    • Subsea Engineering

Chartered Marine Technologist (CMarTech)

    • Diving and Underwater Technology
    • Offshore Materials Engineering
    • Offshore Renewable Energy
    • Pipeline Engineering
    • Risk Management
    • Subsea Engineering

Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (MIMarEST)

    • Diving and Underwater Technology

Edward Hansom, Head of Professional Affairs for IMarEST, said: “We are delighted to award accreditation to this MSc. The course options meet the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Marine Technologist and for Membership of the Institute.
