The Technical Proceedings of the Institute of Marine Engineering,
Science & Technology – IMarEST - are an international
collection of research papers, technical reports and case
studies providing the latest maritime principles and advances
to those working, researching or studying in the marine
environment.
Two issues are newly published – Journal of Marine
Engineering and Technology Part A5; and The Journal of Marine
Science and Environment Part C2 – and orders will
be taken on the IMarEST stand (F1/G1) at ShipRepair and
Conversion London
Looking forward to publication of Part A5, Editor, Professor
Tony Roskilly of Newcastle University says: “The Journal
of Marine Engineering and Technology publishes papers concerned
with the scientific and theoretical research applied to
all aspects of marine engineering and technology. The areas
of interest include power and propulsion systems, system
simulation and control, and safety and environment assessment.
All are covered in the latest issue.”
Papers in Part A5 include:
• Professor Al Kohanskiy and Mr Vadym Logvynenko,
Odessa National Maritime Academy - Microprocessor System
of Automatic Control of Ship's Freezing Complex
• Dr How Sing Sii, Professor Jin Wang, Liverpool John
Moores University, Professor Tom Ruxton, Staffordshire University
and Professor Jian-Bo Yang and Dr Jun Liu, UMIST - Fuzzy
Logic Approaches to Safety Assessment in Maritime Engineering
Applications
• Professor John Flower, University of Warwick and
Professor Chris Hodge FREng, Rolls Royce Marine - Stability
& Transient behavioural assessment of power-electronics-based
dc-distribution systems using the root-locus technique
• Dr Nikolaos Xiros, National Technical University
of Greece - PID Marine engine speed regulation for robust
H infinity- norm minimisation
“The Journal of Marine Science and Environment incorporates
papers that take an interdisciplinary approach to unravelling
scientific problems and those addressing the crucial role
of novel technologies in making significant advances in
understanding ocean processes,” explains its editor,
Dr Colin Summerhayes, Director of the Scientific Committee
on Antarctic Research. “This issue highlights the
multidisciplinary nature of the journal with papers encompassing
topics such as environmental assessment, remote sensing
and hydrography.”
Papers in this issue include:
• Mr Robert Kirby, Ravensrodd Consultants, Dr Peter
Henderson, Pisces Conservation Ltd and Dr Robert Warwick,
Plymouth Marine Laboratory - The Severn, UK: why is the
estuary different?
• Mr Nils Robbe and Dr Oliver Zielinski OPTIMARE Sensorsysteme
