integration capability.seeks a Sales Support Manager-Marine
Systems. The company offers a product portfolio ranging
from vessel design and propulsion units and deck handling
equipment. The business is unique in its scope and capabilities,
with the aim of supplying power, propulsion and motion
control systems for high-value naval and commercial vessels.
Located in SW England, it is responsible for the design,
installation and commissioning of gas turbines and propulsion
systems in support of the opportunities generated or identified
by the Regional Customer Focussed Teams.
Job Description
To be responsible for leading and co-ordinating all aspects
of Sales Support to the Customer Focussed Teams.
To be involved with the marketing,
sale and supply of gas turbines and marine propulsion
systems on a worldwide
basis. He/She will be responsible for liaison with Customer
Focussed Teams, customers and their agents, to understand
their technical and business requirements and to ensure
that the company’s proposal meets specified installation
and operating requirements. This requires a sound knowledge
of marine engineering, ship design, ship performance and
operational requirements, together with a strong business
mind.
To assist in the sales and marketing
effort by preparing and/or delivering marketing information
and presentations
to potential customers on marine products and systems and
answering any technical and business queries. To be aware
of competitors’ activities and be able to support
an effective counter campaign.
Requirements
A broad based marine industry background (or similar)
with a formal education up to degree level in engineering,
preferably with a business qualification.
The ability to communicate well on a wide variety of subjects
to a wide variety of customers at all levels in an organisation,
often in demanding circumstances.
