We are looking for a highly experienced Combat System Engineer to fill this key leadership role. Reporting directly to the Combat Systems Manager, your responsibilities will include new capability design, obsolescence upgrade and in-service design and advice. Acting as Technical Lead for new design projects, you will ensure successful implementation and integration at platform level.
In addition, Engineering Domain Authority status will be attained and used to authorise design solutions to problems or deviations for supporting the submarine in service.
You will have considerable to extensive experience in submarine or warship systems engineering and a proven understanding of systems engineering, including requirements derivation, tracking, and verification and validation through the design cycle. Experience leading a team of engineers and design discipline experts is essential, as is the ability to develop and present design reviews to the customer. You will have proven experience in some or all of the following platform installation and integration, including combat systems, communications systems, navigation aids or sonar. Familiarity with hazard risk analysis and status as a Chartered Engineer or equivalent is preferred.
