Our Client a London based Ship Management company requires a Fleet Manger/ Engineering Superintendent. You will be responsible for the Technical, Nautical and Operational management of one or more vessels under the management of the Company. Responsible to the Chief Executive for the financial and operational performance of the vessel. In Charge of the daily maintenance, repair and crewing of the vessel to Owner’s and Charterer’s standards as laid down in the BIMCO Ship Management Agreement. You will be required to deal with the production of an annual Operating Cost budget for each vessel. Arranging, Contracting and Employing providers of services for the vessel including but not limited to: - Repair Contractors, Suppliers of Machinery Parts and Nautical Stores, Paints, Lubricants, Chemicals. Negotiating and approving all invoices and payments due for services rendered to the vessel for which you are deemed responsible. Ensuring that these are correctly coded and accounted for, entered by your clerical staff upon the Vessel’s "Daily Operating Cost Reports". Provide the Manager, Owner and Commercial operator a monthly financial and technical report for each vessel. You will attend each vessel under your control a minimum of four times in a twelve month period on a world-wide basis. Prepare a full inspection report combining cosmetic condition with mechanical performance of all structures found onboard. Prepare and discuss with senior staff onboard a work list which is to include all items of survey and overhaul. Check and Report on the Planned Maintenance Programme and all aspects of the ISM and ISPS Codes. Attend all major repair periods and incidents including routine and emergency dry docking of the vessel. Ensure there is supervision of all Contractors and Crew in the execution of the works required to ensure a cost effective and timely completion of the project. Negotiate and approve the final invoices for the above works and prepare a final report for the Managers and Owners on the project.Your require a First Class Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer, Issued under STCW regulations with minimum 3 years Seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer on a Foreign Going Vessel. Priority will be given to candidates with reefer experience and also those working in shore based management in a similar role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and hardworking person to join a forward thinking company in its time of growth. As Ship Manager you will be responsible for a number of seagoing vessels (Maximum 5), from a mixed fleet of 20.
