Date of Birth: 25th September 1963
Occupation: University Lecturer Trained as Marine Engineer by the UK MoD (RCNC) spending time at sea on warships and submarines. BSc Mechanical Engineering, MSc Marine Engineering and PhD completed at University College London (UCL). 1989 appointed as a lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering at UCL, and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2001. A member of the Marine Research Group and the MSc admissions tutor. Regularly acts as expert evaluator (for Greek Govt. and the EC) in marine systems and marine transport. Actively involved with training and accreditation sitting on relevant committees of IMarEST, JAP, DABCE and the ECUK.
Electoral Statement: To promote the IMarEST to all those currently involved with the marine environment and more generally to raise the awareness of the importance of the sea. Elected: Student member 1982. Member 1993, Fellow 2001, CEng 1992. BSc (Eng) MSc. PhD, MIMechE 1992 Professional Affairs and Educational Committee (since 1998). Member (representing IMar.EST) on the Degree Accreditation Board for Chartered Engineers DABCE, since 2002, Member of the Joint Assessment Panel, JAP since 2003. Member ECUK Audit Panel for accrediting engineering institutions. Member of organising committee for the International Naval Engineering Conference, INEC 2002, 2004 & 2006. Member of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) underwater robotics committee since 1996, Senior Lecturer, Dept Mechanical Engineering, UCL.
