Date of Birth: 24th November 1965 (40)
Occupation: Head of Product Strategy Joined Royal Navy (1984) to become a Marine Engineer. 15 years’ service included award of BEng (Hons), followed by an MSc for completion of the Advanced Marine Engineering Course and culmination in an appointment as Marine Engineer Officer of a Type 22 Frigate. Commenced a second career with Rolls-Royce at the beginning of 2000. Challenges have included; the role of Sustainability Manager seconded within the then BAE Systems CVF future aircraft carrier programme with responsibility for the development of in-service support requirements, design influence (design for support) and evaluation of proposed system and platform capability. Presently Head of Product Strategy seeking to maximise the applicability and through life suitability of both commercial and military equipment designs for Naval Service.
Electoral Statement: Serving in one of the casual vacancies for Member of Council, I shall if elected, continue to participate actively in the work of The Institute and its committees. I believe that our increasingly diverse membership and associated interests offer fascinating opportunities to develop a greater understanding of our nautical environment.
