Eur Ing Dr P Jukes CEng FIMarEST

Date of Birth: 1st January 1969 (36)

Occupation: Principal Engineer Obtained an Honours Degree in Mechanical and Structure Engineering (1991) and a Doctorate in Structural Engineering from The University of Sussex (1997).
Joined the European Marine Contractors Ltd, an offshore pipelay contractor,initially as Lead Engineer (1997),and then promoted to Senior Engineer (1999). In 2001 joined present employer, JP Kenny Ltd as Principal Engineer, involved in the design of pipe-inpipe (PIP) systems. Project experience includes Rhum Field Development Project (BP) and Tweedsmuir Field Development (Talisman Energy). Also project Manager for the design verification of the ACG Full Field Development project of the Azerbaijan International Operation Company (AIOC). In 2004 promoted to Consultant Engineer.
In November 2005 will be moving to the United States working for JP Kenny in Houston, responsible for developing and expanding their technical capabilities in PIP and HT/HP applications. Offshore experience includes the installation, trenching and rock dumping of offshore pipelines and the installation of subsea umbilicals. Presently undertaking an MBA through the Open University

Electoral Statement: If elected to Council I intend to continue being fully committed to the advancement and promotion of the IMarEST, both nationally and internationally. Whilst working in Houston I will am to (i) create awareness of the IMarEST and help expand the local Branch activities and increase membership numbers, (ii) continue to support young members’ activities as Chairman of the IMarEST Young Members’ Network’, and (iii) continue to promote and represent the Oil and Gas sector of the marine industry.

Elected: Graduate Member in 1998, Member and Chartered Engineer in 1999 and become a Fellow in 2005. Presently Honorary Secretary for the south East England (SEE) Branch of the IMarEST (1999) and Chairman of the IMarEST Young Members’ Network. Past Regional Co-ordinator of the Young Marine Professionals (YMP) for the South East England Branch and London Home Counties (1999-2002). Judge for the SET Awards (2003-2005). Membership of other organisations including: MIMechE(2002), MEI(2003), AMCMI(2003) and Eur Ing (2001), EC registration via IMarEST
