UK-certified former seagoing Chief Engineer, having served on board motor ships in various well-known shipping companies for almost 15 years until 1998. I am now an independent Ship Surveyor, Technical Consultant and also founder Managing Director of Prantik Marine Services Ltd (PMSL), a marine and
engineering firm active in Salvage, Diving Services, Ship Repair and Engineering, Steel Construction, Ship Manning,Testing Services and Calibration, Coastal Transportation and Trading business in Bangladesh. PMSL is an alliance partner of SMIT Salvage BV and I
am a salvager, diver and a Shipowners Casualty Representative.
I have completed an MBA in Digital Technology Management and presently pursuing Post-graduate Diploma in Maritime Law in London Metropolitan University as CPD. I have a publication on ‘Salvaging the sunken vessel Southern Queen’ in Part B2 Proceedings of IMarEST Journal of Marine Design and Operations and two other publications on my company’s salvage works publication in May 2002 Gard News and Lloyds List Maritime Asia July 2002. I often present technical papers on Salvage and Marine Casualties, Salvage Technology Integration in Local Method in IMarEST seminars in Bangladesh.

Electoral Statement: Getting a chance to serve the Council and The Institute is an opportunity for me to contribute to the community. Membership drive has always been a focus on my activity.

Elected: 1997 IEng, 1997 Associate Member, 1999-2001 Hon Assistant Secretary to Bangladesh Branch and Treasurer of Bangladesh branch 2001 to date.Associate Member of Council (appointed May 2005).
