1973-78 Served a mechanical engineering apprenticeship with
Anderson Strathclyde Ltd, Motherwell, also attending Motherwell
Technical College to complete C&G Met Certificates.
1978-84 Sea-going experience with United Arab Shipping Co and
AP Moller-Maersk Line at various ranks to 2nd Engineer Officer.
Attended Glasgow College of Nautical Studies during this time,
completing DoT Class 2 Motor Certificate. 1985-present, joined
Alfa-Laval as Service engineer and subsequently served in various
rules within the marine, power generation and oilfield industries.
Current position is Key Account Manager, responsible for management of the Marine after-sales business in the UK.
Electoral Statement: I will actively promote the aims and workings of
The Institute in order to increase the membership and its profile for
the wider community. In particular, I will foster and develop the benefits available to young and future marine professionals at all levels. I
will always support and protect the interests of the membership at all
times.
