Description
The Baroness Platt of Writtle IEng Award recognises the achievements of outstanding, newly registered Incorporated Engineers (IEng) across all disciplines. Candidates must be nominated by their institution and institutions are asked to put forward their most remarkable new IEng members and give them the opportunity to achieve this accolade and to boost their careers.
The Award is named after the late Honorary Liveryman and Court Assistant Emeritus The Baroness Platt of Writtle CBE FREng in recognition of her work in support of the Engineering profession in general and Incorporated Engineers in particular.
The award is made by the Charitable Trust Fund of the Worshipful Company of Engineers, a Livery Company of the City of London (see www.engineerstrust.org.uk) in conjunction with the Engineering Council.
Eligibility
Institutions can nominate up to five candidates who have achieved IEng status during each year and who have displayed; outstanding ability to apply engineering knowledge, strength of commitment to the engineering profession, excellent communication skills and managerial qualities.
Candidates must be a British citizen or resident in the UK for 5 years.

Application Process
Candidates must be nominated by their institution and institutions are asked to put forward their most remarkable new IEng members and give them the opportunity to achieve this accolade and to boost their careers. Institutions can nominate up to five candidates who have achieved IEng status during each year, and who have displayed outstanding ability to apply engineering knowledge, strength of commitment to the engineering profession, have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated managerial qualities.
