The international award recognises an individual who has undertaken activities or actions to help developing countries improve their ability to comply with international rules and standards relating to marine safety and the protection of the environment or a contribution to human resources development or institutional capacity-building.
You can be nominated for this award if you can demonstrate a contribution to one or more of the following:
- advocacy, communication, outreach, policy, and/or public service,
- aiding the work of marine organizations, government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and/or world-policy-making bodies,
- fostering collaboration across geographical boundaries in the subjects of marine engineering, marine science and/or marine technology
- lead involvement in technology or infrastructure projects that contribute to international development
Trophy and a cash prize of up to £500 will be awarded and attendance at the IMarEST Annual Dinner or appropriate occasion supported.
Nominees can be any member of the global marine community but nominations must be made by an IMarEST member.
