[email protected] Asia 2015 is co-organised by Experia Events and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and supported by the Defence Science and Technology Agency and the Republic of Singapore Navy. It is the second Asian edition of the International Naval Engineering Conference (INEC), which has been held in Europe since the early 1990s. [email protected] Asia will use the opportunity provided by IMDEX Asia 2015, with its attendant naval delegations, industrial participation and trade visitors, to generate high level exchanges and discussions on a wide range of naval technical topics relevant to the Asia Pacific region. The programme will run in parallel to IMDEX Asia, providing delegates with a unique opportunity to gain insight into future technologies and developments. The programme will also be accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
IMDEX Asia 2015, the 10th edition in the series, will be held from 19 to 21 May 2015 at Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore. Complementing the current focus on naval defence, the 2015 event will incorporate a larger maritime safety and security component, with a greater focus on technologies, equipment and services aimed at ensuring that maritime authorities and commercial vessels are able to operate safely and free from interference. This will provide a more holistic overview of the maritime sphere, appending a stronger presence of the commercial sector to the event.
The conference will consider technology in support of the following themes:
Multiplying Effect: Network-centric operations, cooperative engagement, smart weapons, unmanned vehicles, operations other than war.
Flexible Platforms: Modularity, adaptable and intelligent systems, automation and flexible manning, effective equipment, stealth, sustainability.
Effective Support Solutions: Reducing the cost of ownership, rapid re-rolling, concurrent engineering, using the benefits of modularity, supply solutions.
