Innovation in the Naval sphere is driven by international military and industrial competition. Innovation is essential to keeping ahead militarily, but how best to manage it in a world where innovation is perceived as being risky? I will argue it is more risky to not be innovative and discuss some of the means to balance innovation and risk in the context of Naval design and integration.
Robert Skarda MSc CEng FRINA FIMarEST RCNC - Managing Director, Steller Systems Ltd
Rob Skarda is the Managing Director of Steller Systems Ltd. He has previously worked in Jacobs, Sula Systems, Frazer-Nash, Rolls-Royce and the Ministry of Defence. Rob is a Naval Architect by training, specialising in concept design and has worked on Surface Combatant, Submarine, Unmanned Vehicles and Land Systems. He is a Fellow of RINA and the IMarEST and a member of the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors.
