INEC 2020 lays down the challenge to Naval Engineers to look forward 10 years and devise how we can more rapidly integrate the best of the technical and intellectual leading edge into our Navies while sustaining our safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
As we enter a new decade the pace of change and extent of innovation will be both a challenge and opportunity which may fundamentally alter our current assumptions about Naval Engineering. Disruptive technologies have the potential to create a step change in the way we design, build, operate and fight our ships and submarines.
Given our theme, it is highly beneficial that INEC will continue to incorporate the International Ship Control Systems Symposium (iSCSS). The partnership was very successful in 2018 in Glasgow and our links provide a breadth of technical view that remains unique in the Naval sector.
The aim of INEC2020 is to provide those who design, build, operate and maintain ships and submarines including students and researchers, with a platform to share ideas, create networks, promote good practise and demonstrate excellence in our global and diverse domain. Delft University of Technology will provide an excellent venue for us to come together to develop our common enterprise.
