Join the Joint Branch for the next talk in their lecture programme. This talk will include an optional tour of Pendenis Shipyard prior to the talk.
3DMSI is a small and dynamic business based in Penryn, Cornwall. They are offering a unique service to the commercial and private marine industry whereby their dimensional surveyors travel all over the world in order to provide exact and “as built” drawings and models for any refit or new build project. This year they travelled to Florida, Bahamas, Italy, France, Malta, Norway and Thailand to create digital twins of assets that allow project stakeholders to work effectively without having to visit the vessel themselves.
Ollie will talk about the wide range of applications for this technology and some innovative ideas for the future as well as giving people the opportunity to explore “Callisto” a 40m 1940’s motor yacht in virtual reality.
The talk will be on 15th January @ Pendennis Shipyard, Falmouth.
For the yard tour the time will be 1800 with the talk at 1915. You can attend one or both.
Please note that a list of names is required by the yard to facilitate admittance. Please email Rachel Nicholls-Lee at to register your interest for either the yard tour and/or talk. If you think you may wish to attend but are not sure you can make it, please still register your name as it will make yard access much easier should you find you are able to attend.
