We are seeking a talented and experienced Professional Development Manager to lead and manage the IMarEST’s professional development team with full responsibility for all licensed activities (Accreditation, Membership and Professional Registration) arising from our own Royal Charter and registers and licenses from the Engineering Council and the Science Council. The team is responsible for dealing with enquiries from existing members, new applicants and interested parties concerning the above activities, as well as ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the IMarEST, the Engineering Council and the Science Council. Additionally, the team plays a pivotal role in communicating with the IMarEST’s members and working with them as they progress through their careers and up the levels of IMarEST Membership and Professional Registration.
The team is also responsible for managing the licensing of other bodies with respect to the IMarEST’s registers, and the development and delivery of the End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) activities.
The Professional Development Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the IMarEST's Trustees, Directors and the principle committees of council to ensure successful delivery of the Membership and Professional Development remit and processes. The Professional Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the IMarEST’s Royal Charter and By-Laws, the terms of the Institute’s Licences from the Engineering Council and Science Council and other IMarEST/EC/SC rules and regulations in relation to membership and professional development.
You are likely to have at least 5 years' experience of working for a professional body/ learned society or membership organisation and be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of membership and registration. You will demonstrate excellent customer service skills to forge relationships with colleagues, members, licensing bodies, other professional bodies and with industry. A good commercial and strategic awareness and stakeholder management is essential. You will be naturally creative and innovative with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
You will be a flexible team player, a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative. The role requires excellent project management skills, with the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and communicate effectively at all levels.
