Rolls-Royce and Babcock are to be the major sponsors of the 15th International Naval Engineering Conference and Exhibition (INEC 2020); which incorporates the long-established International Ship Control Systems Symposium (iSCSS 2020). Both are being held in Delft, the Netherlands, from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 October 2020.
Both Learned Society events are being organised by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). The Call for Papers for INEC, with its theme ‘Disrupting Technologies’, and iSCSS, themed ‘Surfing the Digital Transformation’, have attracted a high volume of synopses from navies, industry and academia in over 20 countries worldwide.
Babcock is a leading provider of critical, complex engineering services which support national defence, save lives and protect communities. They focus on three highly regulated markets – defence, emergency services and civil nuclear – delivering vital services and managing complex assets in the UK and internationally.
“It is wonderful to have Babcock on board with INEC 2020 as a major sponsor. Babcock have a remarkable record of support to International Naval Engineering and the IMarEST over many years and their continued commitment to INEC is most welcome.” Cdre Stuart Henderson CEng CMarEng FIMarEST, Chairman, INEC 2020
Rolls-Royce is a market leader in aero engines for military transport and patrol aircraft with strong positions in combat and helicopter applications. It has significant scale in naval markets across the world and is the technical authority for the through-life support of the nuclear power plant for the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
“We are very pleased with the sponsorship of Rolls-Royce, as they have been long-standing supporters of INEC and have been supporters of re-invigorating the iSCSS in 2018 alongside INEC. The power systems of Rolls-Royce, either gas turbines or high speed diesel engines, feature in many naval platforms and therefore, they are essential contributors to INEC and iSCSS. We look forward to meeting them at the exhibition and learn about the developments in their power systems.“ Cdr Rinze Geertsma RNLN, Chairman, iSCSS 2020
