Last week was a huge success for the IMarEST’s first ever digital-only conference, which saw 33 speakers across 16 sessions covering a diverse range of topics from marine mammals, to zero-carbon emissions, ocean plastics, and mental health at sea, and saw fantastic engagement from delegates with over 220 questions asked to speakers.
As the conference enters its second week, there is still so much to cover with a packed programme looking to delve into the hottest topics in the marine realm. From discussing the interplay between humans and the integration of autonomy into the workplace to a panel discussion with the Institute’s Special Interest Groups looking at what career opportunities there are in the marine sector both now and in the future – there’s something for everyone.
Make sure to tune in to our Stanley Gray Prestige Lecture on Hacking Ships’ Bridges as Ian Bramson and Nigel Hearn outline what it takes to ‘hack’ a ship and how we can defend against attacks in an increasingly digital age.
Also be sure not to miss the opportunity to meet our new president – Kevin Daffey, 118th President of the IMarEST, as he brings the conference to a close on Friday with his annual President’s Day Lecture on ‘The 2020s – A Decade of Technology Revolution for Marine’.
With so much left to explore, there's still time to register and it’s open to both members and non-members, giving you the opportunity to interact with sessions live or watch back the full two week programme at your leisure, even after the conference has finished.
With over 2800 delegates registered across 77 countries, this is the largest and most international audience at an IMarEST event to date. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn about the latest cutting-edge developments in the marine sector and network with this huge international audience through the conference app and Q&A’s – register now!
You can watch all of the sessions on-demand via the conference app.
