The IMarEST’s magazine, e-newsletter series and Annual Conference have been shortlisted for industry awards.
The IMarEST's membership magazine and email newsletter series, Marine Professional, and its Annual Conference have been shortlisted for awards at this year's Independent Publisher Conference & Awards, held by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA).
Reflecting its achievements in rapidly adapting to the challenges of this year, the IMarEST has been nominated for the membership magazine, e-newsletter and event of the year categories.
The Awards acknowledge the strides independent publishers have taken to keep their audiences engaged, informed and entertained in an increasingly challenging media landscape. The judging panel are paying special attention this year to the efforts made by organisations to reshape and grow their media operations against the backdrop of a global pandemic.
As the full impact of the Covid-19 pandemic became apparent in the spring, the IMarEST brought forward the launch of its Marine Professional weekly e-newsletter for members by four months to forestall any disruption to the schedule of its print magazine. It also reconfigured conferences to a virtual format and ramped up its webinar programme in order to keep members abreast of unfolding developments and to provide opportunities to interact and discuss the pandemic's impact on the marine sector.
This year's winners will be announced at a virtual event taking place on 26 November.
