EEEGR delivers a comprehensive programme of events and networking opportunities for both members and non-members, hosts an annual flagship conference SNS (Southern North Sea) which is the most important conference for the offshore energy industry in the East of England, and has established a range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that allow the discussion and debate of pertinent industry topics, with meetings offering presentations from industry experts and time for debate on current issues. Skills for Energy is another of EEEGR's core programmes, which focuses on delivering skilled people to the industry when they need them for long term careers and ensuring the existing workforce continues to meet the industry’s needs into the future. It is centred on addressing core skills needs across all energy sectors, both technical and commercial, achieved through collaborative partnerships.
EEEGR and the IMarEST have established a new regional special interest group dedicated to the energy sector in this area which aims to provide a forum for discussion and debate for IMarEST and representatives of EEEGR members and to enable all aspects of the sustainable development of offshore energy in the East of England.
As the southern part of the North Sea is a hugely significant region, this group will explore all facets from ship operation and sub-sea support to the challenges of cooperating with other stakeholders such as aggregate extractors, aqua culturists and fisheries.
