The IMarEST gender equality partnership scheme brings together organisations who share our aim of making a difference globally to the role of women and the oceans.
Through this partnership programme we will engage with other organisations undertaking positive action towards the delivery of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (in particular SDG5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls and SDG14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development).
The partnership aims to support a global network (of networks) which will increase the influence and technical voice of women within the marine sector and wider.
Working with organisations that share a similar mission to the IMarEST, this partnership presents an excellent opportunity to achieve a vision of a future where marine resources are sustained, managed and developed for the benefit of humanity
How will it work?
All agreements will be developed through collaboration and mutual consensus based around a number of common partnership principles
The partnership is open to all organisations- companies, universities, societies, NGOs and IGOs - who have made a commitment, or want to make a commitment, to contributing towards the delivery of UN SDG:5 Gender Equality and SDG:14 Life Below Water.
We want your enthusiasm and motivation for making changes
The partnership scheme is free - although we expect companies to provide an in-kind contribution through individual’s participation in working groups, for example.
However, companies and organisations that are able to provide financial support to the programme to advance the activities may wish to become an IMarEST Marine Member.
