Dedicated to safe ships and clean seas, IACS makes a unique contribution to maritime safety and regulation through technical support, compliance verification and research and development. More than 90% of the world's cargo carrying tonnage is covered by the classification design, construction and through-life compliance rules and standards set by the twelve Member Societies of IACS.
IACS is seeking a marine engineer or naval architect to work in its busy London office. This role is to support the Secretary General and the Chair of General Policy Group in the development of policy and procedural papers and in the delivery of IACS technical work streams. This is an interesting and varied role that requires excellent written and spoken English, the ability to clearly and succinctly explain complex technical matters, good analytical skills and the capacity to produce high quality work against tight deadlines. A can-do, professional attitude and good inter-personal skills are also required. Engaging across a wide range of subject matters and dealing directly with senior management from each of the 12 IACS Members this is an ideal role for an individual looking to deepen their exposure in the maritime world and to understand the complex interaction between multiple stakeholders.
Candidates must have the ability to live and work in the United Kingdom and be either a newly qualified graduate or have a minimum of two years work experience in the maritime industry.
