Rear Admiral Jeremy Bailey retired in 2025 after over 30 years in the Royal Navy. A Surface Ship Marine Engineer, his operational service saw him deployed in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Middle East on National, UN and multinational operations. Ashore he served in joint and single service staff positions in future capability, technology development, sustainability delivery, Naval Strategy and training delivery. He served as Naval Base Commander in Portsmouth, Commandant of the Defence College of Technical Training and most recently Director Submarine Support in the Submarine Delivery Agency. He is currently working with Hawkrose, First Marine International and Haskoning on complex programmes, harnessing digital tools and knowledge to optimise the Maritime and wider Defence business. He has been a member of the IMarEST since 1992 and a Fellow since 2021, chaired the International Naval Engineering Conference in 2024 and is a member of the Institute’s Technical Leadership Council amongst other Trustee roles.
