Description

 

Since 2008, Sir Donald Gosling’s generosity in funding has encouraged young authors to present their ideas and innovations to a worldwide audience at the IMarEST International Naval Engineering Conferences (INEC). The Sir Donald Gosling Award is a key feature of each INEC conference.

 

 

Eligibility

 

All named joint authors must be 35 years of age or under at the time of the conference. Authors do not have to be a member of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).

Prize

The award consists of three prizes

1st: £5,000

2nd: £2,500

3rd: £1,500


Financial awards will be shared equally between named joint authors and a certificate will be awarded for each individual author.

Criteria

  • In the first instance, authors are asked to submit a synopsis via the Call for Papers process. All authors must provide proof of their date of birth, such as a copy of their passport, at the time of synopsis submission.
  • Selected authors will be invited to submit technical papers as outlined; eligible winners must present their paper at the conference, where the award ceremony will take place.
