Dr Perez holds both PhD and MSc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. He has also completed an MBA and several postgraduate programs in Shipbuilding, Maritime Transport and Executive Management.
He is currently Senior Director for Software Engineering at Siemens Digital Industries Software. He previously worked at Siemens as Global Portfolio Development Director.
Combining his activity in the industry, he is a professor in the Marine Engineering School of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
He has published several books and written more than one hundred technical papers about marine engineering.
He is member of the Committee on Education in Engineering (CEIE) of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and President of the Spanish Association of Marine Engineers (Madrid Branch).

Mike Watt is the Director of the Innovation Centre of Alternatives & Renewable Energy (iCARE) at Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore, formulating partnerships and providing clients with a bespoke end to end service supporting and advising them on their decarbonization journey focusing on innovative technologies, digitalization, alternate fuels and renewable energy.
He is the Chairman of the Joint Branch of RINA & IMarEST (Singapore), Chartered Marine Engineer and Fellow of IMarEST. He has over Twenty-Five years of experience in the Marine Industry in various roles with Chemical and Oil Majors, Ship Management/Ownership and Classification Society. These positions throughout his career have included seagoing roles, new build construction, technical superintendency and business and project development.
He holds a Master of Science in Engineering for Marine Professionals and MBA from the University of Plymouth and is a Chartered Engineer with the British Engineering Council.
