This presentation will explore how these requirements can be addressed throughout the lifecycle of a marine engine, from its initial design and selection through to operation, condition monitoring and technical support.
Using the Everllence 175D as a practical example, the presentation will discuss the engineering considerations behind a modern high-speed marine engine. This will include power density, common-rail fuel injection, rating and duty-cycle selection, fuel efficiency, maintenance intervals, fuel flexibility, installation options and compliance with IMO Tier II and Tier III emission requirements.
The presentation will then examine how machinery data can be used after a vessel enters service to improve equipment availability and support operational and maintenance decisions.
Everllence PrimeServ Assist will be used to demonstrate how equipment data and advanced analytics. OEM engineering expertise can help identify anomalies, support troubleshooting and provide proactive recommendations before minor issues lead to performance degradation, emissions-related problems or unplanned downtime.
The presentation will also briefly address secure data transmission, cybersecurity, remote expert support and the continuing role of onboard marine engineers in interpreting information and implementing appropriate maintenance actions.
A practical case study involving a 175D installation and SCR performance monitoring will be included to illustrate how operational data and engineering analysis can be combined to identify a developing problem and determine its root cause.
