The Northern Naval Capability Cooperation is a cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands which aims to investigate northern naval cooperation for the development of future Naval Capabilities. The hybrid propulsion working group has been tasked to investigate opportunities to collaborate in the development of energy systems for future naval platforms. These energy systems should provide fuel flexibility, deliver maximum endurance and provide maximum operational capability in support of combat systems and propulsion with minimal signatures.

The Northern Naval Capability Cooperation hybrid propulsion working group has investigated joint research and development interests in hybrid propulsion systems for the navies of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands. In the workshop, we will present the joint results and discuss how we can create teams with industry to work on the identified challenges. We can then in future work on proposals for research projects either in multi-national, NNCC or European initiatives.
