Onboard carbon capture and storage is becoming increasingly attractive and viable on certain vessels, as an already implementable solution, forming part of a vessel owner and operator’s decarbonisation strategy, complementary to ongoing fuels developments and efficiency optimisations – deployable both for newbuild and retrofit projects. The presentation will cover the recent entry to the marine market of the Wartsila CCS solution, the systems offering, applicability to various vessel types, and operating experience to date.
