About the event:
This event will explore the current status of IMO debates as they relate to GHG emissions and decarbonisation. This will include both the debate around the Net Zero Framework, which is pending adoption, and the EEXI/CII regulations which are currently under review and potential revision. The event will combine theoretical analysis of the policy options that might make cost-effective progress towards IMO’s Revised Strategy objectives, and industry perspectives on the practical implications of those options. Following this, attendees will be asked for their views and perspectives, and their support for how IMarEST can most effectively feed into future rounds of GHG negotiations (including at ISWG-GHG 22 in September, and MEPC 85 in December).
