Defined Route for for MCA Certified Yacht Engineers
IMarEST is the professional membership body and learned society for marine professionals. Our 15,000 members, based in over 100 countries, and at sea, are engaged in all aspects of marine engineering, science and technology, and the industries and services that support maritime economies.
The development of commercial and privately owned yachts over the last two decades has resulted in a substantial increase in the number of large, complex and sophisticated yachts, operating internationally. To ensure that these yachts are operated by competent personnel, the MCA has introduced a range of certificates of competency for Yacht Engineers.
The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) has endorsed these certificates as a route to professional membership, engineering registration and international recognition, which are becoming ever more important to practicing Yacht Engineers.
