Overview

Awards Assessors are asked to review and evaluate applications for the Institute's many awards and bursaries, using the scoring sheets provided and including additional comments to accompany their marks.

Assessors can also volunteer to participate on the interview panel for final stage interviews, though these are less frequent.

Assessors are not required to assess all applications, but will asked to be committed to the role.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Review and evaluate applications for awards and bursaries using the scoring sheets provided
  • Respond to requests for support from the Awards Team in a timely manner
  • Work with the Awards Team and take direction to support and process applicants
  • Return scoring sheets within the alloted timeframe
  • Occasionally participate in the interview panel for final stage interviews

Assessors are encouraged to promote the awards among your networks. There is also an expectation that assessors disclose to the Awards Team when an award candidate is known to them personally or professionally.

 

About you

You will have:

  • A passion for supporting lifelong learning, rewarding both those starting out in their careers and those at the cutting edge of new developments 
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure that assessments are handled in a timely manner
  • Good attention to detail

Previous experience in reviewing bursary applications or awards nominations is desired.
