Bureau Veritas has now a 3D approval process in place and naval architects are interested to investigate the new methods of approvals. By advance of 3D modelling software and their use in design offices, thereis a need felt for a streamlined 3D approval process rather than converting all models to 2D plans andsubmit them.

Although 2D plans are still required for construction shops, it is not necessarily best forapproval process. With 3D model approvals, naval architects and class surveyors can communicate muchmore efficiently and identify gaps make improvements if present.

This requires interacting platforms where design offices and class surveyors can exchange and view designs.

Olivier, Riccardo, and Eric will be explaining the advancements in plan approval process in BV. They will also present their surveyors, office locations and type of surveys they cover in Australia.
