Consilium highlights the Future of Safety

At an IMarEST UAE Branch seminar in Dubai, Consilium Safety unveiled its SMiG software & C2P platform.

Dubai (UAE), 30 January 2026

Consilium Safety has unveiled its next-generation marine safety solutions, the SMiG (Safety Management System interface Graphics) software and the C2P platform, at an IMarEST UAE branch supported seminar in Dubai attended by 155 delegates. These innovations are designed to enhance onboard safety, address shipping industry challenges viz. larger ships and fewer crew with evolving regulations.

Nikeel Idnani, Honorary Secretary, IMarEST UAE branch (supporting organization), in the introductory speech pivoted from cliched maritime industry trends like decarbonization & digitization to emphasize safety. Drawing on his own experience as a ship's engineer, he highlighted the dire risks of engine room fires, which can be prevented using advanced technology to manage risks and ensure safe voyages.

In their joint presentation, Mansoor Chaudhry (VP Sales), Johan Olofsson (Key Account Manager) & Isak Nordberg(Head of Software Solutions) highlighted the SMiG (Safety Management System interface Graphics), a new generation safety management system that integrates all relevant safety information into one clear system. This interface provides early detection capabilities, offering an average of four extra minutes compared to traditional fire alarms, which can be the difference between control and chaos in an emergency.

C2P Platform: An advanced platform that builds on the trusted CCP foundation with a modernized architecture and new user interface designed for enhanced safety and future demands. It ensures a unified experience across fire and gas detection systems, allows integration with other safety-critical functions like temperature monitoring and oil mist detection and includes cybersecurity measures compliant with IACS E26 and E27 approvals.

MD9910 Smoke and Heat Detector with TOD: This new detector features Test On Demand (TOD) capability, enabling certified tests to be conducted remotely without needing physical access to the device.

Advanced Gas Detection: Consilium offers solutions for the growing use of alternative fuels, including the T3000 gas detector for ammonia, which can detect up to 25 different gases. They also presented the GD10 P infrared gas detector, noted for its quick response time and long expected lifetime with no calibration required.

Proactive Oil Mist Detection: The presentation highlighted the high-capacity fan, which draws 10,000 liters of air per minute through its detector chamber that identifies oil mist and gas leaks before they ignite, eliminating fire risks early. This aligns with the IMO's Revised Code for Atmospheric Oil Mist Detectors (MSC.1/Circ.1086/Rev.1) approved in June 2025.

Temperature Monitoring System (TMS): For cargo safety on container and car carrier vessels, the TMS provides permanent temperature monitoring of every container, leveraging a patented "Computer-In-Cable Technology" to detect minimal anomalies (pre-fires) in extreme environments.

These innovations leverage early detection, AI-powered image recognition (SensEye) and real-time people positioning to significantly reduce response times during incidents. Consilium Safety emphasized its commitment to providing reliable, compliant and future-ready solutions to the marine industry.
