Electric Propulsion Future

On 10th May there was the annual lunchtime lecture, held at the Holiday Inn, Kenilworth. The presentation was given by Eugene Bari, the CEO of ECOMAR Propulsion which specialises in zero carbon emission propulsion systems for inshore vessels.

This was an inspiring presentation on the founding and development of the company over the last six years, now successfully employing a coherent and able team of 17 people. They produce powerful novel electric outboard motors and inboard electric propulsion motors powered by batteries with hydrogen fuel cell and solar PE panels for back up supply when disconnected from shore charging facilities.

The lecture was very well received and was followed by an enjoyable lunch which provided a useful forum for networking.
