IMarEST launches new website

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology has today unveiled its new website www.imarest.org.  The development is part of its commitment to supporting marine professionals across the globe. The website provides a hub of information about membership, marine education and careers, and the IMarEST communities. It also hosts the Institute’s virtual library which provides members with access to latest technical papers and 130 years of the IMarEST’s history.

Gwynne Lewis, Chief Executive, says: “Our members are working on some of the biggest challenges of our time; from the transition to alternative fuels, deployment of new technologies, researching and mitigating climate change on the ocean and its ecology, to installing renewable energy facilities. The Institute has been making our own transition in recent years and the most recent component, our new website, shows how we will continue to support our current members and upcoming generations with the enhanced tools they need to better collaborate and find solutions to these global issues.”

Additional new features include a central news hub for the latest Institute updates, plus a new blog that will provide a platform for industry advice and commentary. For members the new site will also allow for greater customisation of their personal interests and preferences and the ability to access the full range of IMarEST resources, by logging in only once, making accessing everything a member needs far quicker and easier.

Patrick Carpenter, Head of Marketing and Communications, adds: “Going live today with the new site is exciting, it has been an organisation-wide project involving every team. We hope that members and visitors will enjoy the refreshed site, resources and features. This is the start of a journey which we plan to continue by building additional functionality and customisation for our members.”
