Nottingham Industrial Museum Visit
Members from the Branch Visited Nottingham Industrial Museum in September.
This was a private visit which allowed for a guided tour of all the exhibits, which cover a vast range spanning a history of local manufacturing and innovations. The museum houses a wonderful collection of railway items, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, lace making machinery, telecommunications, pharmaceutical production, and tobacco industries. Also a collection of (working) steam, diesel engines, also too many other elements to mention except an early Parsons Turbine. The volunteers who run the museum, were able to impart a vast range of knowledge. A very rewarding visit and a location I would recommend to everyone to visit.
