Plymouth Breakwater Tour 2019
Please join us for this excellent opportunity to get a close-up view of one of Plymouth’s greatest landmarks, the 200 year old Breakwater. The Joint Branch is providing a guided tour given by Nigel Overton, Curator (City & Maritime Heritage), Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery. We will leave from Barbican and have provided a charter to take up to 35 guests (members and non-members are welcome) to and from the Breakwater. It is hoped that we will have 90 minutes on the Breakwater itself (weather and light permitting). After you are welcome to join us for a drink on the Barbican, for some networking.
Please Note:
Places for the tour will be issued on a first come, first served basis. There is a vertical ladder to gain access to the structure and any who wish to attend must be willing and able to ascend / descend a potentially large distance. Suitable footwear should also be worn. In the event of adverse weather conditions an alternative boat tour may take place around the Breakwater or the trip may be postponed, depending on the severity. Attendance is at your own risk.
Date: Friday 6th September
Time: 17.15 - 20.30
Venue: Departs from Barbican Ferry Landing Stage
Cost: £7.50 per person (payable in cash on attendance)
