Abstract
Finite element simulation (FEA) is increasingly used in the Offshore, Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding and other industries and is becoming an integrated part of the global design process for many companies. It is very important for safety reasons, certification, design updates and modification, maintenance and inspections.
Finite element simulations and verification according to the standards are often used to: i) ensure the structural integrity of the structure, ii) understand the behaviour of the model under different loading conditions and iii) prepare a list of important nodes/locations for the inspection. FEA helps in significant cost reduction when the goal of the simulation is to have the most efficient possible design. More importantly, finite element method is a useful and effective tool to check if the design is prepared according to the rules and regulations of industry standards.

Join this webinar to learn more about how to:
• Set up the basis of calculation for the Finite Element Analysis;
• Combine the loads and boundary conditions;
• Quickly check Stresses, Displacements and Forces in the model;
• Detect the Structural members in your FEA model;
• Perform the verification against ABS, DNV, AISC and other rules;
• Prepare a report with the results of simulation.

About the Speaker
Mr Oleg Ishchuk is the Chief Operating Officer at SDC Verifier, with more than 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering: structural verification of Ship-to-Shore cranes, lifting appliances, floating structures, vessels, and other equipment. He is also an expert in structural verification according to multiple industry rules in Oil and Gas, Offshore and Maritime, Civil, Heavy Lifting, Machinery, and other industries, focusing on Fatigue, Plate Buckling, and Member checks.
