Eleanor Barber holds a degree in Physics and brings an unusual combination of high-technology engineering and maritime expertise to her work. Her background spans the space sector, where she has worked on satellite architecture and low Earth orbit servicing programmes, including most recently the development of a Gravity Offload System for on-orbit operations. A qualified Yachtmaster, she has combined her technical grounding with a growing specialism in maritime compliance and professional training. She currently serves as Quality and Compliance Consultant to the Bermuda Maritime Academy, where her work focuses on quality management, regulatory alignment with MCA requirements, and the Academy's strategic development ahead of its 2027 recertification audit.
Peter Wallace, PE, CEng, CMarEng is Principal Engineer in the Maritime Performance Services--Applied Technology Group of Lloyd’s Register, based in Houston Texas. He is a practicing naval architect working in the technology development, risk, and regulatory spaces in maritime and offshore in such topics as decarbonization, dynamic positioning, and structural digital twins. Peter holds a BSc in naval architecture and marine engineering from Webb Institute of Naval Architecture and an MBA from Tulane University. Peter is a Member of Corporation at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and an Executive Committee member of the IMarEST Gulf Coast Branch.
Mike Winfield MBE JP has had a distinguished career spanning government, tourism, maritime education and public service in Bermuda. A former Cabinet Minister, Senator and Government Leader in the Senate, he has also served on numerous government boards and industry organisations, providing leadership across Bermuda's tourism and maritime sectors. Professionally, he was President and CEO of Cambridge Beaches Resort and later led the successful America's Cup Bermuda campaign from bid to delivery. Mike is Chairman and a founding member of the Bermuda Maritime Academy, which is now one of the few institutions outside the UK licensed by the MCA to deliver STCW training and certification. He continues to champion the development of Bermuda's maritime workforce and the future of the island's maritime industry.
